Free Federal Home Improvement Grants For Low Income Families

Free Federal Home Improvement Grants For Low Income Families
There are federal grants available to fund home improvement projects for qualified individuals. These grants will cover repair and renovation costs of qualified homes and housing units across the United States. Grant recipients must meet the criteria set by the grant program. Typically, grants are not required to be repaid; however, the money can be recouped from any grantee who does not honor the terms of the agreement.
Housing Preservation Grant (HPG) Program
Sponsored by the Department of Agriculture, the Housing Preservation Grant (HPG) program offers grants to cover the costs of repairing and rehabilitating the homes and housing units of very-low and low-income residents. Grant funds are available to homeowners, landlords, co-op members and rental property owners who provide housing to low-income families. Eligible applicants include state, local, and tribal governments and nonprofit organizations. Grant recipients have two years in which to use the funds.
Farm Labor Housing Loans and Grants
The Farm Labor Housing Loans and Grants program, also sponsored by the Department of Agriculture, provides farm owners with financial help to construct, repair and renovate housing units and service-related facilities for their farm laborers. This grant program provides funds to improve housing for seasonal and year-long farm workers and to construct facilities such as dining areas, laundromats, small infirmaries and daycare centers. To qualify, farm workers occupying the housing units must be permanent U.S. residents and must earn a substantial amount of their income from farming. Eligible applications for this grant include state, local and tribal organizations, nonprofit corporations of farm workers, and public and private nonprofit organizations. Grant recipients have to match at least 10 percent of the financial award amount.
The Very Low-Income Housing Repair Program
A third program funded by the Agriculture Department, the Very Low-Income Housing Repair Program, provides rural communities with financial grants to improve homes. Funds must be used to repair, improve and modernize homes or remove safety and health hazards. Grants of $7,500 are available to low-income residents of communities with less than 20,000 residents. Funds are provided only to residents 62 years of age or older who have demonstrated that they cannot afford to repay a loan. The home must not be sold within three years of receiving the grant or the money can be recouped by the grant program.

Oklahoma Housing Grants-Free Home Repair Grants Oklahoma
Potential home owners or developers in Oklahoma have several financing options. Grants are available to homeowners who need help with down payments and closing costs. Grants are also available to help owners, developers and builders pay for repairs and the rebuilding of residential structures. Does this Spark an idea?
1st Gold
1st Gold is a home grant program available to all Oklahoma residents. It provides assistance with down payments and closing costs. Based on census data, the state has designated Targeted and Non-Targeted areas that determine resident eligibility. People living in Non-Targeted areas must be first-time home buyers in order to qualify for the 1st Gold grant. Residents in Targeted areas don't have to meet that requirement.
Only certain mortgage lenders in Oklahoma participate in the 1st Gold grant program. Interested residents must still meet credit and income requirements for a particular lender. Eligibility for the 1st Gold grant doesn't guarantee procurement of a mortgage.

Repair and Rehabilitation Grants
The U.S. Department of Agriculture makes grants available for Oklahoma residents who are at least 62 years old and cannot repay a Repair and Rehabilitation Loan.
To qualify, the homeowner's income must be 50 percent or less of average income for the area. The grant can only be used to make repairs deemed necessary for health or safety reasons, or so that disabled members of the household can access the home.
The grant amount is limited to $7,500 over the lifetime of the grantee.
If the applicant is deemed able to repay a portion of the funds, a combination loan/grant may be offered, with the loan interest rate not exceeding one percent.
Farm Labor Housing Loan and Grant Program
This program, also offered through the U.S.D.A., aims to help build and maintain housing for farm workers. Individuals, corporations and associations can apply. The money must be used to purchase, build or repair facilities for use as residential homes, day care or community centers specifically for people employed in agriculture and aquaculture. Furnishings can also be purchased with grant funds.
Grants are awarded for up to 90 percent of the proposed costs.
Housing Preservation Grants
Yet another U.S.D.A.-sponsored program is the Housing Preservation Grant. This grant is offered to organizations intent on rebuilding or fixing housing occupied by people deemed to be in the low- or very-low income brackets. Grants can be used for co-ops, single-family and rental properties in towns with populations of 20,000 or less.

Free Home Improvement Grants 2012-Apply Home Repair Grants

Free Home Improvement Grants 2012-Apply Home Repair Grants
If you're thinking about expanding or fixing up your home, don't overlook the home improvement grants that can be obtained from the government and other private foundations. Once you obtain these funds, not only will you get the financing you need to pay your home improvement costs, but you will never be asked to repay the money.
The way the housing market has been and the outlook, housing prices will either continue to go down or stay flat. That's not providing a lot of incentives for people to buy new homes or to invest in their current home. But when you and your neighbors renovate and increase the property values of your homes, the local community benefits and the economy as a whole benefits. It's an impressive thing to have housing prices in an area rise when they are falling everywhere else, and that instills confidence in potential buyers as they consider their options for their next home.
Home improvement grants can provide you with all or some of the financing you need to buy materials and labor. Whether you are considering updating your home to energy efficient appliances or you want to expand by knocking down walls and building more space, there is money available to you.
These funds are mostly offered through community government and private foundations, but there are a number of programs that you can find and apply for though the grant database. Once you find a few that meet your financial requirements and match your background and interests, simply submit your application and wait a few days to get approved.

Home Loan-Pre-Approved Home Loan

 Home Loan-Pre-Approved Home Loan
The purchase of long-term fixed assets is largely based upon the availability of loans and credit creation. The basic mechanism of such loans is simple. The people who want to purchase assets such as cars or homes, usually rely on loans such as the auto loans and home loans. When the person wants to purchase the assets, he approaches the loan lender with an application stating the need for finances. The lender then makes a review of the persons credit rating, income and a background check. If the applicant of the loan qualifies for the loan, then the loan is approved and the applicant or rather the now borrower is able to purchase the specified asset. After the asset is purchased, the borrower pledges the same asset with the lender as collateral and the lien is transferred to the lender, which makes the loan a secured loan. In short, the purchase of the asset depends on the loan. The pre approved home loan, however works in a bit different manner. Before we proceed to concepts such as pre-approved mortgage or home loan, let us have a look at the mechanism of pre approved loans.
Pre-Approved Loans
The query, 'how do I get pre-approved for a home loan?', is a common one. The best way to get such a provision is to apply for a pre-approval to a lender. The lender will perform a credit check and will analyze your credit report. Then he will also go through some factors such as your background and identity check, income, projection of income, etc. After this is done, the lender gives the borrower the following details...
The amount of loan that can be availed by the borrower
The rate of interest that would be levied
Whether the loan would be a secured loan or an unsecured loan
The time period of loan repayment
The number of missed installments that would denote a loan default
The would-be borrower, then can approach the seller with these details which is the proof that the borrower is getting a loan with a certain credit limit for the purchase of the asset. It must be noted, that the pre approved loan is not an approved loan, it is loan where the approval process is completed before the borrower approaches a seller to purchase the asset. In a normal loan, the process is exactly opposite, the borrower first approaches the seller and then the lender. It must be noted that many lenders charge a small fee to complete this pre-approval process.
Pre-Approved Home Loan
A pre approved home loan has the same working as a normal pre-approved loan. This process of pre-approval in fact proves to be very advantageous as the borrower can easily look for a property in accordance to the details that have been provided by the lender. Another advantage is that the borrower can look for a suitable down payment or second mortgage before finalizing the real estate or home that he wishes to purchase. This mechanism is extremely helpful for most of the first time home buyers. Many property agents and dealers in fact recommend people to first get the pre-approval procedures completed. The importance of getting these procedures is simple, one can easily plan out the repayment of loan and avoid a financial chaos. When you get a pre-approved for a home loan, you automatically receive the rate interest and time period for which the repayment period would last. If the monthly installment proves to be burdensome, you can always improve your credit ratings and score before applying again. Alternatively, you may also opt for a pre approved home loan for bad credit.
Pre approved home loan online applications are easy to complete and you will get authenticate loan details within a few hour's time. The advantage of such policies is that you can forecast your repayment strategy, even before you purchase the home.

Information about the pending migration from CCR.gov to SAM.gov

What is SAM?
The System for Award Management (SAM) is combining eight federal procurement systems and the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance into one new system. Beginning July 30, 2012, the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) system will be migrated into SAM.

What is the timeline for the CCR transition to SAM?
CCR will transition to SAM at the end of July. CCR must stop accepting new data in order to successfully migrate the existing data into SAM. CCR’s last business day is Tuesday, July 24, 2012. It will no longer accept new registrations or updates to current registrations after that time. The CCR Search capability will remain active through the transition to allow you to search for an entity’s current registration status. SAM will be online for use Monday morning, July 30, 2012.

What do I need to do?
·         Already registered with CCR: You don't need to do anything now.
·         My CCR registration is incomplete:  Whatever you’ve entered by 11:59pm on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, will be moved to SAM. You will be able to complete your registration in SAM when the system is live.
·         I am not yet registered with CCR: You can either register with CCR before 11:59pm on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 and then create your new SAM account and migrate your CCR information into it when SAM goes live; or you can wait until SAM goes live to create your account there.

When will CCR stop accepting new registrations or updates to current registrations?
CCR will stop accepting data at 11:59 pm on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. No new registrations can be submitted after that time. No updates to existing registrations can be submitted after that time. Any registrations in process will be on hold until SAM goes live the morning of July 30, 2012. If you are in the middle of a registration, the data you have submitted will be migrated to SAM.

What if my registration expires close to the CCR to SAM transition date?
If your record was scheduled to expire between July 16, 2012 and October 15, 2012, CCR/SAM is extending your expiration date by 90 days. You will receive an e-mail notification from CCR when your expiration date is extended. You will then receive standard e-mail reminders to update your record based on this new expiration date. Those future e-mail notifications will come from SAM.

Where can I learn more about SAM?
Please visit SAM.gov for more information, including an overview video, quick start guides, future plans, and technical information for System to System users .
